My Love Story with EM

Life is Better with Effective Microorganisms

Once upon a time, on a nice Friday afternoon in the summer of 1996, I happened to join an unexpected EM (Effective Microorganisms) technology presentation. Oh boy and a little bit girl, it hit me:  This is pure nature, this is for me!

“Technology” sounds like engineering but the centerpiece of this approach is a brownish, similar-to-pickles-smelling solution called Effective Microorganisms that comes directly from Mother Nature’s lab and is comprised of only natural microorganisms.

I bought five of the EM buckets the EM technology presenter had brought in his truck that day and shared the magic solution with others around me. Soon after, I established a dealership for the product to carry on my mission.

I really fell in love with these tiny entities in the bottle and my excitement has never left!  I remain filled with gratitude for the existence of these unseen micro-alchemists keeping our body and metabolism alive and appreciate the world of good they create in our environment. I was happy to hear that music is played in the EM production facility for happy reproduction of the little ones.

My Customers’ Experiences Using EM

While promoting EM, I sold the product not only to private customers and stores like food co-ops for all kinds of home and garden uses, but also to commercial customers like Washington State Parks to utilize in their sewage treatment systems. Never had there been so little odor and the pumping so effortless because the sewage was well-metabolized and liquefied.

Restaurants that were treating their grease traps with this microbial formula noticed that instead of pumping the grease trap four times a year, they suddenly had to pump the grease trap only once a year.

Together with my EM fans, I have enjoyed many classes and workshops and received much feedback from my customers, I have gathered a lot of experience which supports my adoration and friendship with the microbial world — all of which I am happy to share with you on this website.

How bacteria is viewed

I have one last word regarding how the majority of people typically react to the concept of microbes or bacteria, and maybe you can confirm my experience . . .

Their first thought is to have a disinfectant handy and some sort of fearful feeling seems to creep up, envisioning a horrible army of bad bugs taking over.  We are so trained to disinfect everything that we lose our awareness that beyond the so-called bad bacteria, there are beneficial bacteria as well.  Since our body contains on average about two pounds of beneficial microorganisms or more, does that mean then that people are afraid of themselves?!
